About
A private shared-meaning system
Gloss helps two people discover what each person means, where the meanings differ, what clarification would actually change understanding, and a Bridge they can say aloud — short and direct, not policy or therapy-speak. Then whether that phrase worked, and how the meaning evolves. It never decides who is right. Open beta — free full access for now. Temporary: your data may not be saved.
The problem
Couples fight about “support.” Teams drown in “urgent.” People burn out chasing a definition of “success” they never chose. Advice arrives before anyone notices they are using the same word for two different realities. Gloss makes that gap visible first.
Aether Mind Studios
We build understanding.
Gloss is how that mission shows up in language. The same word can carry completely different realities: support, enough, home, trust. Most conflict begins when people communicate from different dictionaries. Gloss makes hidden meaning visible without deciding who is right, and remembers how meanings change over time.
Every AMS product answers: What becomes understandable because this exists?

“support”
You
Sitting with me when I’m a mess. Not fixing it.
Them
Helping solve the problem so you feel lighter.
You ask for presence. They offer solutions. Both are love. Neither matches.
Gloss doesn’t decide who’s right. It makes the gap visible so you can talk about the right thing.
What Gloss can do
See the difference
Not nine kinds of analysis. One clear reaction: “Oh. That is the difference.”
Name the hidden reason
In ordinary language: the strongest reason two honest meanings still miss each other, whether that is timing, who decides, whether yes meant yes, or something else.
Ask one useful question
Only the clarification that would actually change the reading, the phrase, or what you check later.
Say a phrase that fits
A Bridge you can speak aloud. Not a legal sentence. Not therapy-speak.
See if it worked
Check-in tests the phrase, not the relationship. No closeness score. No health grade.
Watch meaning over time
A private story of the word: what it means now, what you discovered, what you tried, what is still uncertain.
The practice
- 1
Define
Write what the hard word means to you, in your own words. Old meanings stay when you change it.
- 2
Invite
They define the same word alone. Neither of you sees the other’s meaning until both have written.
- 3
Compare
Place the two meanings side by side. Gloss names the real difference, not who is right.
- 4
Bridge
Get one phrase you can actually say. It stays unverified until you try it.
- 5
Check in
Did the phrase name the difference you meant? Keep it, revise it, or try another.
- 6
Remember
Meanings evolve. Gloss keeps the history so you can see what changed: wording, situation, or the meaning itself.
Gloss Score is secondary. One word cannot verify mutual meaning. Five high-stakes shared concepts are required for a verified Score, and Score is never a love or compatibility grade.
What Gloss is not
Not therapy, diagnosis, or a substitute for professional care. Not a mood tracker. Not a coach that tells you what to believe. Not a relationship-health meter. We surface meaning differences. You decide what to do with them. If you are unsafe, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline (in the US: 988).
